Blogging in the Family?

So, like most things technological, I’m late to the game. My cousin has been blogging for years over at thestorry.com. He writes about all things tech, business, and entrepreneurship related. Although he hasn’t posted in some time, I encourage you to look through his archives as there are some fantastic posts in there!

Last year my sister took up blogging. She is a mom and wanted an outlet to share her perspective on parenting. Excellent advice and insightful viewpoints abound over at mattersofmom.com. Check it out!

I’m hoping I can follow in my family’s footsteps and also create quality blog material over the long term. I have big shoes to fill!

Why blog?

I admit it.

Despite being a technically inclined person, I am somewhat hesitant when adopting new technology. My computer is very old. I miss the days of flip phones. I still use a Blackberry because I like real keyboards. I’ll take a desktop computer over a laptop any day. I don’t understand tablets. And I have no idea how to Instagram.

That said, I like to write and have a lot of opinions. Blogging is a natural outlet for these creative impulses. Of course, it took the Provincial Instructor Diploma (PID) program to force me to actually make a blog!

I’m looking forward to the assignments from this course and will be putting them on this blog for all to see. If you’re also on your Educator’s Journey, I welcome you to look to my work for inspiration, or reach out to me to have a conversation on the topics being discussed.

Enjoy the read!
