Who is Ben Lovely? I’m a Red Seal Master Electrician, Father, and Electrical Instructor.

I spent 10 years in the electrical trade before transitioning into a teaching role in 2016. I teach all 4 levels of electrical apprenticeship, foundation, as well as a PID credit course on assessment and evaluation of learning. Teaching allows me to focus on the parts of being an electrician I enjoy most: passing on knowledge to my students and answering the ever present question of ‘why’?.

I’m currently working as an Electrical Instructor at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, BC. I am well versed in the Canadian Electrical Code, National Electrical Code, and preparing students for Red Seal certification.

On the personal side of things, I’m a business owner, enthusiastic snowboarder, amateur golfer, and aspiring traveler. I am interested in economics, trades, electrification of transportation, energy, science, business, and investing.
